Biography The Santa Cruz Guitar Duo is Josh Friedman and Kelsey Damas Josh Friedman has been playing classical guitar for 8 years. From UC Santa Cruz, he received a B.A. in Guitar Performance in 2000 and a M.A. in Music Composition in 2003. His focus is the traditional and newly composed music of Latin America. He plays a guitar by Carlos Piña and strings by Hannabach. Kelsey Damas has been playing classical guitar for the past 17 years. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and has performed with many guitar quartets, duets and ensembles in Northern California. His focus is on 20th century guitar works and in his spare time he enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
